Miss Camille’s Dance Program Miss Camille
About Miss Camille
Camille Izard Morris trained in Nashville, Paris, and New York. She danced professionally with the Cologne Tanz Forum (Germany), the Maryland Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre (NYC). She successfully competed in the Third International Ballet Competition held at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Russia and won the Prize for Artistic Excellence.
In Dayton, she created and produced "Art from Every Angle", an interdisciplinary annual event which brought together the performing and the visual arts, for five years. Participants included dancers from the Dayton Ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Rhythm in Shoes; actors from The Human Race, and film-makers from Wright State University. The event also supported independent artists by showcasing a poetry corner and a visual arts display. "Art from Every Angle" raised over $15,000 to benefit the Josephine Schwarz Dayton Dancer Fund.
Miss Camille has been recognized with Choreographic Fellowships from both the Ohio Arts Council and the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District. She has been teaching for most of her professional life and earned an MFA in Dance from New York University. She has been enthusiastically serving the families of Oakwood through her Dance Program at the OCC for 13 years.
She is married to writer Terry Morris. They have two daughters, Olivia and Alexandra, both graduates of The Dance Program.
